A bordo de Corregidor: [ESP/ENG] Campaña: El arte de cocinar las alcachofas, Misión 2

"-Muy bien corregidoreños, el tablero ya está puesto. Los gringos ya están en posición, por lo que nos tocará darles un poco de su propia dósis de libertad y plomo. Golpearemos como un gorila, morderemos como un león salvaje pero sobre todas las cosas, lucharemos como Corregidoreños-.

La voz de la Teniente Njeri aún resonaba en el canal de comunicación cuando un mensaje sonó en los comunicadores de la fuerza de avanzada.

-Teniente, -la voz de Jelani, Moran en vanguardia, sonó fuerte y seca- han comenzado a moverse-

-Ya escucharon, hora de enseñarles el coraje nómada. Ariadna ɛlɛ́ ŋatúny.*"

"-Very well Corregidoreños, the table is already set. The gringos are already in position, so we're going to give them some of their own liberty and bullets. We'll hit like a gorilla, bite like a savage lion but above everything, we'll fight as Corregidoreños!"

The voice of the Lt. Njeri still resonated on the comm-link when a message sounded across the link of the advanced force.

-Lt, -the voice came from Jelani, a vanguard Moran, it was strong and dry- they have started moving-

-You all hear that, time to teach them about the Nomad courage. Ariadna ɛlɛ́ ŋatúny."

Para la segunda partida de esta campaña mi oponente fue Pablo, quien jugó con USAriadna, unas miniaturas que estaban pintadas de maravilla y que, además, estaban lidereadas por la edición especial del Ranger desconocido. Ahora que escribo el reporte me doy cuenta de que olvidé tomarle fotos de cerca, una pena.

For this second match, my opponent was Pablo, who played with USAriadna. Very nice painted miniatures that were also led by the special edition of the Unknown Ranger. Now that I write the report, I notice that I lack close caption pictures of his miniatures, a shame!

Las listas / The lists

Había preparado una lista con más de 12 órdenes, combo Jaguar-Intruder obligado y un par de cazadores Massai para protegerme de incursiones centrales. Esta no fue la primera lista que pensé pero tras consultarlo con la comunidad nómada, decidí afinar unos cambios y el resultado fue esta lista:

I prepared a list with more than 12 orders, the Jaguar-Intruder combo was obligated and a pair of Massai Hunters for protecting the central zone. This was not the first list I create but, after talking with the nomad community, I decided to make some changes and the result was the next list:

La Partida / The Match

Ariadna fue quien comenzó la partida y quien desplegó primero. En el techo central de su zona de despliegue fue para un Harris de Marauders mientras que a mi lado derecho se desplegó el enlace de Grunts. Toda la linea previa a la siguiente línea de Antenas estaba cubierta por los Foxtrot. A cubierto total quedaron: el Dozer, los Traktor Mul, el 112 y el Ranger Desconocido.

First turn and deploying first was for Ariadna. On the central roof, a Harris Link Team of Marauders was deployed. On my right side, the Grunt's Core Link Team was in position. The next line just a few orders from the Antennas, all the Foxtrot deployed. At full cover, in his deployment zone, there were both Traktor Mul, Dozer, 112 and the Unknown Ranger.

Por mi parte, el despliegue fue más orientado hacia el centro-derecha. Mi flanco izquierdo quedó algo desprotegido, solamente cubierto por mi Intruder que vigilaba desde las alturas y un Moran con sus Crazy Koalas. Por el centro y a cubierto el Salyut, un Jaguar, la Teniente y la Spec-Ops. Zondbot a alcance de llegar al Intruder en caso de una desgracia. Por mi lado derecho igual se encontraba un Moran, el Jaguar a cubierto y mi equipo enlazado dejando solo mi pieza ORAdora a Lupe. Mi Alguacil restante lo puse a cubierto para tratar de disparar con especulativos.

For me, the deployment was more oriented to the central-right zone of the table. Mi left side was only protected by the LoF of my Intruder and a single Moran with his Crazy Koalas. On the middle and in cover: Salyut, one Jaguar, Wildcat LT and the Spec-Ops. The Zondbot was in range for covering any displeasing result on a faced roll with my Intruder. On my right side, there was the other Moran, an in cover Jaguar and my Alguaciles Link Team. Lupe was my only effective ORA piece. The other Alguacil was on high position and in cover also, just for speculative fire.

Comenzamos con fuerza cuando su Harris de Marauders atacó a mi enlace de Alguaciles con su Lanzador de Cohetes Pesado, yo contesté el fuego con mis dos cargas de Panzerfaust, quizás algo excesivo pero en caso de requerir recarga contaba con mi remoto con bagaje. Gané la tirada enfrentada y el pobre Marauder voló por los cielos.

We began in heavy mode! His Harris Team of Marauders shot against my Link Team and Lupe shot back. Marauders attacked with his Heavy Rocket Launcher and Lupe answered with his Panzerfaust, all her Panzerfaust, maybe something excesive but I had bagagge so I could recharge later in game. I won the faced roll and the poor marauder exploited.

Después comenzó su avance con los Foxtrot y comenzó a capturar las antenas de su línea, no había mucho que hacer para contrarrestar y lo más que pude fue aventar algo de humo para en caso de requerirlo poder disparar con mi Intruder. El equipo enlazado de Grunts comenzó a avanzar y tras activar una antena, recibió fuego por parte de mi Intruder pero a pesar de fallar las esquivas, logró superar las armaduras sin problema. Son duros esos Grunts.

After that, the Foxtrot units started to capture his antennas, the only thing I could do was to throw a few smoke and then a shot with my Intruder but without any luck. The Grunts started to move and after activating one Antenna they got into my Intruder LoF so I shot. I just want to say that that ARM 3 value is really usefull! No casualties.

Before Hellcat

Tras dejar las tres antenas conectadas y creo que con un solo Grunt fuera, si no me falla la memoria y gracias a un Crazy Koala, comenzó mi turno. Mi Moran avanzó para tener a distancia de repetidor a un Grunt y a través de mi Spec-Ops logré marcarlo, consiguiendo a su vez mi objetivo clasificado. Una vez esto disparé especulativos para poder darle cuello a su equipo enlazado pero no tuve mucha suerte, las tiradas de armaduras lograron salvarlo. Avancé con mi Moran FO del lado izquierdo para capturar la atena, luego con el equipo enlazado capturé la segunda y tercera de mi lado de la mesa. Terminé colocando en buena posición al enlace para evitar alguna aproximación por el centro. Ariadna se venía con todo pero fue entonces cuando mi Moran se levantó para disparar con su escopeta hacia el equipo enlazado y pudo causar una herida.

After activating 3 antennas and with only one grunt unconscious -thanks to a Crazy Koala-, if the memory doesn't fail me, my turn started. I moved my right Moran for having one Grunt on the repeater's range and with my Spec-Ops I use spotlight! A success, so now I have done my Classified. After tagging the Grunt I use speculative fire from my alone Alguacil but the armor rolls saved them again. I moved my FO Moran and activate my left-side antenna and then, with my Link Team I activated the central and the right side antennas. The Link Team go into a defensive formation in the middle of the scenario. And then I decided to stand up my Moran on the right side and shot the Link Team, sadly only one wound was done but he stayed standing for difficulting the movement of the Grunts.

Para la segunda ronda usó uno de sus remotos para dispararle al enlace pero Lupe lo mandó a volar. Un Foxtrot consiguió la antena central y regresó a cubierto. Su equipo enlazado trató de moverse pero gracias al tiro anterior tenía algo de humo y pude disparar de nueva cuenta, logrando otra baja en el equipo enlazado. Al final su paramédico se encargó de eliminar a los inconscientes, a pesar de su buena física. El Ingeniero reactivó su Traktor y el Ranger Desconocido se posisionó defensivamente a un costado del edificio de los Marauders, además de que el 112 se movilizó hacia la otra antena. El buen Moran resistió como los grandes hasta que finalmente cayó con una herida pero al menos le costó 4 órdenes, si no me falla la memoria, acabar con él. El Foxtrot responsable consiguió la antena derecha central pero quedó a tiro en su segunda parte de la orden y mi equipo enlazado lo mandó a dormir.

For the second round he used his remote for shooting the link team but Lupe Balboa won again the face to face roll. Instead of continuing the attack he decided to go for the objectives, so one Foxtrot activated the central Antena and returned to his cover. His Linked Team moved again but because of the last shot, I had some smoke so I used it with my Intruder and finally, another member of the Team got unconscious. He tried to use his paramedic skill but, as it always happens with all paramedics, they ended killing his troops. The Traktor Mul got online again and on the left side, the 112 moved out from his cover towards his nearest antenna. The Unknown Ranger took position near the building where the Marauders were and then he tried to take out my Moran, action that cost him 4 orders! Finally, it was a Foxtrot shot, the lucky one. But after activating the antenna he ended in LoF of my Fireteam so I shot him and he fell unconscious.

After Hellcat!

Decidí que era hora de los refuerzos y logré colocar a mi Hellcat justo donde era necesario, por lo que pude capturar la antena de mi oponente que estaba a mi lado derecho además de llevarme otro grunt de camino. Traté entonces de emplear a mi Tomcat para levantar al Moran caído pero el Ranger desconocido me tenía a tiro -la verdad no me fije- y me dejó al doctor fuera de combate también por lo que decidí que ese Ranger debía morir. Movilicé mi Intruder para bajarlo de la zona donde estaba y así en la tercera ronda darle cuello al Ranger.

I decided that it was time for some reinforcements so I brought the Hellcat successfully near his left antenna, so I captured it and also shot against one of the remaining grunts. I tried to use my Tomcat for saving my Moran but I didn't notice that I was in the line of fire of the Unknown ranger so the Doctor ended unconscious. I decided that the Unknown Ranger had to die on my next turn.

En su tercer turno, mi oponente no tenía mucho que hacer pues muchas de sus tropas estaban fuera de combate. Decidió entonces ir a por la antena del lado izquierdo y sacrificó un Foxtrot para comerse a los dos Koalas, lo cual sucedió pero alcanzó a llevarse la antena. Posicionó entonces al 112, al Dozer y al Ranger para defender aquella antena y trató de bajar a su último Marauder -el cual había mandado a dormir a mi Hellcat- pero al bajar me dió una ORA gratis y el equipo enlazado lo mandó a la hielera.

On his third turn, my opponent has not many troops so he decided to go for the left antenna sacrificing a Foxtrot with my two Crazy Koalas. He also allocated near that antenna the Unknown Ranger, the 122 and the Dozer. Finally, with his Marauder Sniper take out my Hellcat and tried to get down the building but after checking the LoF he gave me another free ARO and the Link Team made a lot of holes on that poor Marauder.

En mi tercer turno movilicé a mi Jaguar para generar algo de humo y poder ir a por la antena que recién había capturado además de darle cobertura a mi Intruder para terminar con los tres ultimos que me quedaban a tiro. Tras recapturar la antena con mi Moran, el Intruder se encargó del 112, el Dozer y el Ranger Desconocido.

On my third turn, I moved my Jaguar for getting some smoke for my Intruder and a safe passage for the Antenna. The Moran got the Antenna and the Intruder took out the Unknown Ranger, the Intruder and the 112.

"You know, that Tomcat owed me a few beers!"

10-0 Victoria para Corregidor. La verdad es que fue una partida muy entretenida y divertida, y debo admitir que tanto las tiradas como los bonos me sirvieron de maravilla.

10-0, Victory for Corregidor! It was a very funny and interesting match, and I must admit that all the rolls and the bonus worked together so good.

Reflexiones / Reflections

La carencia de un visor 2 por parte de Ariadna me ayudó bastante pero ciertamente algo que influyó mucho en el campo de batalla fueron los dos Moran pues todos los Crazy Koalas se llevaron a alguien. El Intruder sigue siendo sin dudas una pieza fundamental y el bono del Hacker EVO para los objetivos y el DA fue de gran ayuda.

The lack of a Lvl 2 visor on Ariadna was an advantage for me but also something that helped me a lot was the pair of Morans: they all took someone to the realm of Hades (or at least Morpheous). The bonus of the EVO Hacker device helped me a lot for the Antennas and for the Air Deployment.

Por otra parte, un error que no debí de haber cometido fue el de intentar revivir al Moran, la verdad es que no era necesario y solamente perdí una tropa que, por suerte, no necesité después. Quizás también otro error fue que el Hellcat debió de haberse colocado en fuego de supresión y talvez así no hubiese caído en combate.

On the other side, trying to bring back the Moran was an unnecessary action that ended on an unconscious Tomcat. Also, maybe putting the Hellcat in Suppression could give him more lifetime.

Esta victoria me mete de lleno en la lucha por los premios. ¿Siguiente oponente? Pues vamos de nueva cuenta con algo dierente: Aleph.

This victory put me again into the prizes zone. Who'll be my next opponent? Well, something different again: Aleph.

En el horizonte se asoma una posibilidad para una revancha, nos vemos en el espacio cabezas de meteorito!
